__________________September 24, 2026________________ A Message from Mary B I was out-of-town last Sunday and took advantage of watching our Facebook streaming of the worship service. It made me think of how blessed we are to be able to provide this service to our Parishioners who are unable to be present in person. It also reminded me that the live-stream was my first introduction to St Francis and how it made me want to attend in person. It makes me think that if we know of persons who are reluctant to attend in person, we can invite them to “check us out” via the live-stream. It was great to see Rev Mary in the pulpit and I look forward to working with her as we move forward during this interim time. Just a reminder that we are sharing Rev Mary with All Saints’ in Torrington. Our service concludes about 10 am and she needs to be in Torrington in order to lead their worship at 11 am. That does not give her much time between services for visiting with parishioners. She will be in the St Francis church office Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9 am – 5 pm and Wednesday afternoons. You can call her or the church office to make an appointment with her, if needed. We will work with Rev Mary to provide a variety of opportunities for informal interactions. The first of these is our Ice Cream Social this Sunday, 9/20, at 5 pm. I urge you to come and socialize with Rev Mary and other parishioners. As a bonus, you could stay for the monthly Game Night at 6 pm. At the Vestry meeting this week, I introduced a timeline for our annual Budget and Giving Campaign, beginning with organizing a Giving Campaign Task Group and culminating with presenting the final 2027 Budget at the Annual Meeting in January. The Vestry will begin focusing on the Budget at our meeting in October. Our Giving Campaign Task Group will begin planning messaging and activities beginning in the next couple of weeks. We need you. We need people who are willing to participate on this Task Group for about 8 weeks and offer creative ideas and passion for the future of St Francis and our place in the wider community. If you feel called to work with us on the Giving Campaign Task Group, please let me know. In conclusion, I wanted to let you know that the 2025 Financial Audit Report was presented to and accepted by the Vestry. You can request a copy of the Audit Report through Ann in the church office. A copy is also available in the Vestry notebook that is housed in the Rae Whitney library.
