December 11, 2025 In partnership with our Boy and Cub Scout Troops, Saint Francis has been invited to ring the red kettle bell at Wal-Mart. Volunteer slots are available from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, December 19 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 20. Though the red kettle fundraiser is a project of the Salvation Army, ninety percent of funds raised stay in the valley. These funds are managed by Community Action Partnership of Western Nebraska. Their mission is to help people and change lives. Funds raised help fill the gap for local families needing help covering basic necessities such as rent, utilities, prescriptions and gas to get to medical appointments. Though our time is divided into half hour slots, volunteers are welcome to sign up for more than one slot. If you're more comfortable seated, you're welcome to bring a chair along. Christmas themed costumes and accessories are encouraged but not required. To sign up, please visit this link or contact the church office. Thank you to those who completed and returned your 2026 Pledge information. The act of pledging is not only a financial commitment to the continued fiscal health of St Francis Episcopal Church, it is also a spiritual commitment to St Francis’ ability to bring God’s love to our members and the community at large. If you have not been able to return your 2026 Pledge information, it is not too late to do so. There are pledge slips on the table in the Narthex that can be completed and either placed in the Offering Plate on Sunday or returned directly to the office. If you are unable to come by the church to get a pledge slip, please call the office and let Ann know what your pledge commitment is for 2026. The Vestry has been working on the 2026 Budget and we plan to have the final budget available for parish members to review early in January. We will formally present the 2026 Budget at our Annual Meeting on Sunday, January 25. Also at the Annual Meeting, we will be electing new Vestry Members. Five of our current Vestry members will be completing their terms or leaving the Vestry for other reasons. This is an opportunity for individuals who are committed to the success and vitality of St Francis to step forward. If you are interested in serving on our Vestry, please speak with me or Rev Erin. This will likely be my last Message for 2025. It has been a year filled with challenges and joy. I am looking forward to all the great things we will do together in 2026!
