Thursday Announcements for March 26th, 2020

3/26/2020

FATHER MARK’S ANNOUNCEMENTS
  1. Palm Sunday is 10 days away! To be honest, Holy Week always sneaks up on me, but this year is crazy in all kinds of ways, so I am even more surprised than usual by that fact. Last night the Vestry and I discussed Holy Week and Easter, and our plan is to celebrate these services and Facebook livestream them as follows:
    1. Palm Sunday (Apr 5)               10:00 A.M.
    2. Maundy Thursday (Apr 9)         6:00 P.M.
    3. Good Friday (Apr 10)                6:00 P.M.
    4. Great Vigil (Apr 11)                   8:00 P.M.
    5. Easter Morning (Apr 12)         10:00 A.M.
  2. Remember that you can watch any livestreamed service by going to our Facebook page “Saint Francis Episcopal Church.” If you don’t have a facebook account, you can still watch it live or see it taped using the link on our website.
  3. Some have been asking about online donating and paying pledges during this time. You can do this easily and securely through our website. Go to www.saintf.org, navigate to the “More” tab at the top right and then click on “Give” and hit the “Donate Now” button on the page that opens. You will be taken to a page where you can give a one-time gift or set up regular payments. It’s super easy. Even I am doing it, so you know it can’t be too complicated J
  4. I was reminded last night that if someone is admitted to the hospital, they are asked if they would like that fact to be shared with their pastor/priest. This is one way we know you are there, so don’t forget to check that box if admitted. You can also let us know by calling or emailing the church, or by contacting Fr. Bob, Mo, Karen, or myself directly.
  5. Everything is stressed right now, and yet everything is slowed down at the same time. It’s weird. I am trying to keep church life as normal as possible given our constraints, and to do more communicating. If there is anything you need, I hope you will call me at 308-765-1535 and I will do my best to get it for you. This will pass, I promise. In the meantime, stay in touch with each other and with those you love, and take this time as a chance to do some things or have some conversations you haven’t been able to do or have when things were super busy.
