ERIN’S EPISTLETTES

• Thanks, parents, for sharing your acolytes with us Sunday afternoon. I enjoyed getting to know this wonderful bunch of great kids!
• This being the fourth Sunday of the month, the Daughters of the King will collect toiletries for those in need. You're invited to bring your baby bottles to church for a special blessing!
• Our diocese's Annual Council will take place in Kearney at the end of next week! Because of this, I'll be in the office only Monday and Tuesday of next week. For more information on Council, I invite you to check out their website.
• The primary purpose of the rector's discretionary fund is to provide emergency aid to those in need. Since my arrival in late August, I've been approached ten times for assistance. We were able to provide direct help to five families. (In the other cases, it was more appropriate to refer them to local social service agencies.) Unfortunately, the fund is down to about $100. I invite those who are so moved to participate in this ministry through both prayer and treasure. If you choose to donate, simply indicate "rector's discretionary" on the envelope or check. (We don't have a way to donate to the rector's discretionary fund through Breeze, but we're working on it.) Thank you for your consideration. 
• The Joint Nominating Committee for the Election of the Presiding Bishop invites all Episcopalians to participate in a survey to help them develop a profile for our next PB. The survey, which takes about fifteen minutes to complete, is available here and will be open through October 31. The election will take place at General Convention in 2024. 
• And last but certainly not least, my animal cartoon/meme of the week.
