ERIN’S EPISTLETTES

  • Graduation Sunday May 5. If there's a graduate in your circle you'd like us to honor, please have their name and degree information to the front office by next Monday, April 29.
  • You may already be aware that our own Bishop Barker is a finalist to serve as the 28th Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church.
    • The election takes place June 26 at the 81st General Convention in Louisville, Kentucky.
    • We'll include all five candidates, as well as their families and dioceses, in our Prayers of the People at Sunday services. You're invited to include them in your personal and family prayers as well.
    • If you missed Bishop Barker's letter to the diocese regarding the announcement of his candidacy, it's available here.
    • The Episcopal News Service article detailing the background of the four candidates as well as outlining the process is available here.
    • Hard copies of both the letter and article are available in the narthex.

In conjunction with National Child Abuse Prevention Month, the Daughters of the King have designated this Sunday, April 28 as Capstone Sunday.

Capstone is a child advocacy agency. They provide a variety of services at their location Gering. Our own Senior Warden Monica Shambaugh is executive director.
We  are asking parishioners to bring items from Capstone’s Wish List and deposit them in a designated box in the narthex.
Requested items are:
  • New journals
  • New blankets
  • New backpacks
  • McDonald’s gift certificates  (to purchase meals for kids at CAPstone during lunch or dinner time)
Last year we collected 33 blankets, 51 journals, $210 in meal gift cards and $250 in cash. Items collected this year will be presented to Monica Shambaugh on Capstone Sunday. Please help us support this very worthy program.

The Forward Day by Day’s for May-July are here in regular and large print.  If you’d like one of these mailed to you, please email or call the church.
